Idaho State University hosts several international choirs at the Idaho International Choral Festival in July 2013.

The 2023 Idaho International Choral Festival will be held from July 12 - July 16 on the ISU campus. The event feature choirs from Costa Rica, China, Poland, Catalonia (Spain), Uganda, and three groups from the United States, that includes the 80 voice IICF High School Honor Choir. Festival organizers are seeking host families for international singers. We speak to ISU Director of Choral Activities, Dr. Scott Anderson, about the festival and “host family” opportunities.

As in all previous Festivals, international singers are housed by "host families" from Pocatello and surrounding area. Families volunteer to host two or more visiting singers for the week, providing daily breakfast, transportation to and from the Festival activities, and housing.

Performance venues will include Jensen Hall and Frazier Hall (for evening concerts), and lunchtime outdoor concerts at the hypostyle stage facing the Quad.

By bringing international guests into their homes, community members participate in outstanding cultural exchange, as well as making it possible for Pocatello to experience music from around the world once every three years.

People interested in housing international singers can contact McKenzi Warnock, our Housing Coordinator at mckwar@gmail.com
