Don’t Call it Jazz is proud to present In the Palm of My Hands, the debut album by ISU alumni and commercial music graduate Joseph Emmanuel.
In the Palm of My Hands features Joseph’s expansive compositions for jazz ensembles, taking the listener on an exciting and dramatic journey. It’s a unique album that sounds very much like Joseph, not a typical jazz record, it’s a dynamic album complete with incredible performances and rich textures.
In this episode host and commercial music professor Jonathan Armstrong talks with Joseph about each of the tracks, his compositional process, and his artistic vision as a contemporary creative musician.
Joseph is now studying jazz drums and composition at NYU.
