ISU Hockey Team in Search of New Recruits

Idaho State Bengals Hockey Facebook

Many are unaware that Idaho State University has a hockey team, and while their first season nears its end, head coach Shawn Gardener is in search of more players.

Starting with just one transfer student, Dusty Gardener got talking with hockey coaches and players, and in September, the dream of creating an ISU hockey team came true.
Now, head Coach Shawn Gardener tells me they're in search of new players for their upcoming season.
The team currently stands at 12 skaters and 2 goalies, where regular hockey teams have at least 20 skaters. He said not only are they scouting high school players around the state, but those who have played junior hockey and are looking to play at the college level.
The team has already found a new recruit from the ISU student body, so if you’re
currently a student who plays hockey but didn’t know there was a team, Coach Gardener
says they would love to have you.
In addition to the flyers put out around campus, you can find more information on their Facebook page at Idaho State Bengals Hockey. They would also love to hear from you by email if you’re interested, at isubengalshockey@gmail.com or by phone at (208) 403-6457.
The Bengals have their last home game against the University of Idaho at the Mountain
America Center in Idaho Falls on Saturday, February 17th . Tickets are $10 and half-price for ISU students. Make sure to come out and support your Bengal skaters before the season ends!
