Aylin Martinez

Podcast Host and ISU Nursing Student

I was born and raised in Southeast Idaho as the daughter of two immigrant parents from Hidalgo, Mexico, a place I like to call my second home. After finishing my high school studies, I attended Idaho State University in 2015. Though I am American-born, my Mexican and Latino roots are where my passions lie. I saw a need for improved healthcare towards the Spanish-speaking Latino and Hispanic community, motivating me to pursue a career in nursing. After a few years of experience as an RN, I decided to continue my education and pursue a Doctor of Nursing Practice degree, with the goal of becoming a Nurse Practitioner. I wanted to get into the provider role to better help the population I am passionate about. In addition to these goals and passions, I enjoy all the outdoor activities Idaho has to offer, including paddleboarding, camping, and hiking. Because of my father, I also have a love for anything artistic, such as photography, drawing, and painting.
