Formerly known as Bengal Buzz, the Idaho State University Alumni Association radio program has a fresh new look for 2021. Introducing Bengal Tales, a half-hour radio show featuring interviews with significant ISU alumni, students, faculty, and friends. Bengal Tales is dedicated to exploring and celebrating the inspiring stories, accomplishments, and community events for ISU Bengals. Bengal Tales highlights different events and opportunities for engagement as well as information about Bengal athletic games and University news for Idaho State University.   • Ryan Sargent visits with three of this year's ISU Outstanding Student Award winners, Juliette Bedard, Andrew Sagendorf, and Emma Watts. Twelve 2024 OSA award recipients will be celebrated at the ICCU Bengal Alumni Center on Thursday, February 8.   • This month on Bengal Tales, ISU Vice President for Alumni Relations Ryan Sargent speaks with former ISU Basketball player Matt Stucki. Stucki joined the Bengals in 2002 after graduating from Century High and named 4A Player of the Year and the Idaho Gatorade Player of the Year. He was twice awarded All-Big Sky honors during his four years with ISU.
  • This month, Ryan Sargent welcomes Shantay Bloxham, CEO of United Way of Southeast Idaho (UWSEI). Their conversation includes information about an upcoming UWSEI Murder Mystery Dinner event and how the organization collaborates with local nonprofits, schools, government agencies, corporate partners, donors, and volunteers to make a positive impact in our community.

  • For the final episode of Bengal Tales for the 2022/23 academic school year, Ryan Sargent welcomes incoming ASISU President Emma Watts and Vice President Chance Reynolds. Emma and Chance represented the ROAR party during this spring's elections, and they campaigned on the promise to "make students' experience at ISU better,".
  • Alumni Director Ryan Sargent welcomes ISU alumnus, Pete Frischmann to the studio. Pete, who graduated from ISU in 2005 with a bachelor’s degree in chemistry, is the co-founder of Sepion Technologies, which was just named “10 Start-ups to Watch” in the Chemical & Engineering News magazine. Listen to Ryan and Pete’s interview and learn more about Pete’s journey in chemistry and how Sepion Technologies is working to change the world.
  • Dr. Danielle Wylie is the Director of ISU’s TRIO Upward Bound Programs for area high school students. She joined ISU in January of 2020 after growing up in rural Appalachia, earning her doctorate in philosophy at the University of Wisconsin, and working as a faculty member in Illinois and Mississippi.
  • This month, Bengal Tales host Ryan Sargent talks with Cathy Wooton. Cathy is the new Vice President of University Advancement for Idaho State University. Wooton brings 30 years of experience to the table, and shares about her life, vision, and ambition for Idaho State. Originally from Alaska, she enjoys the community and opportunity Pocatello offers.
  • Daniel Moore joined the ISU Alumni team in the fall of 2022. Dan graduated from Idaho State, first in 2004 with a major in Journalism and English, and then in 2008 in Graphic Arts and Printing. He currently lives in American Falls, where he was involved with community journalism and the newspaper The Power County Press until coming back to ISU in his new role. His new duties includes providing campaign support and donor outreach to help fulfill the mission of ISU and its students.
  • Rachel Taow attended high school in Idaho Falls, joined the US Army as an intelligence analyst, received an Bachelors of International Studies degree from ISU, and is now seeking a Law degree. She has recently been recognized for advancing her field at the Gateway for Accelerated Innovation in Nuclear at Idaho National Lab.
