Life Sets You on a Trajectory: Enjoy the Ride

On today’s episode, Emily Jahsman interviews Keith Weber, Director and Founder of the GIS Training and Research Center at Idaho State University. Keith takes us on a journey through his career, including how he was first introduced to geographic information systems (GIS) and how his natural inquisitiveness led him to a fulfilling career in building “information” through GIS.

The latest episode of Pathways follows Keith Weber on his professional journey. After serving in the military, Weber's inquisitive nature and love of the outdoors directed him to pursue multiple degrees in wildlife biology. While pursuing his undergraduate degree, an introductory class in the  developing field of GIS piqued Weber’s interest and eventually led him to develop the multiple GIS programs currently offered at ISU and an active research program at ISU's GIS TReC.
