House Calls KISU guest host, McKenzie Young, speaks with Idaho State University Clinical Assistant Professor, Derek Gerber. Dr. Gerber is the current President of the Idaho Physical Therapy Association and speaks to McKenzie about the services performed by physical therapists, ISU's Physical and Occupational Therapy Clinic, the opiod epidemic, and more.

About our guest:

Dr. Gerber began his career working as an Army officer physical therapist. He has primary worked in the outpatient orthopedic setting at military hospitals and health clinics, at rural hospitals, and at private orthopedic clinics. He joined the faculty at ISU in 2013 and primarily instructs orthopedic and musculoskeletal courses along with manual therapy. He is a clinical instructor and clinician in the ISU DPT program clinic and practicum. He currently serves as the Idaho Physical Therapy Association President and has been involved with the Idaho strategic workgroup for the reduction of opioid misuse.
