Bengals Fall In Logan

LOGAN, UT- The Idaho State men's tennis team competed in their five-game road trip finale yesterday in Logan, Utah as the Bengals faced the Utah State Aggies. Idaho State gave it their all, however fell to the Aggies 5-2. After the loss the Bengals will move to 6-9 on the season and remain 0-1 in conference play.

In the Bengals match against Utah State, Idaho State came out firing in the doubles matches, but could not get it done as they could only get a win in the No. 1 doubles match behind the team of Andreas Kramer and Valentino De Pellegrin, downing their matchups 6-2. In the No. 2 doubles match Patrick Kristensen and Wikus Robbertse lost in a tight playoff 6-7 (1-7), and in the No. 3 doubles match Hiroki Fujita and Victor Sklenka just missed out on bringing home a W as they fell 4-6. Heading into the singles matches down 0-1 the Bengals were looking for some answers to the Aggies, but did not find many as they locked up the doubles matches point behind the No. 2 doubles team other Bengals fell in straight sets in the No. 1 and No. 2 singles matches. In the No. 3 singes match Andreas Kramer battled to get a victory for his team as he won in a tough match 7-6 (7-3), 7-5. The other point for Idaho State came in the No. 5 singles match from Victor Sklenka, where he put on a show, winning in three sets 7-6 (7-5), 3-6, 1-0 (10-3). The Bengals dropped the No. 4 and No. 6 singles matches in straight sets as they ended up losing the match to the Aggies 5-2.

The Bengals will return home to Reed Gym from their five-match road trip to take on the University of Idaho Vandals Saturday March 25th at 11 AM and the University of Montana Grizzlies on Sunday March 26th at 11 AM.
