For this week, we will be listening to recordings of student actors performing scenes from the theatrical works of Anton Chekhov. All of the scenes were learned and performed as part of a class taught by Professor Vanessa Ballam in theatre.

We will hear from Professor Ballam on the life and significance of Chekhov. Much of the information Professor Ballam will give comes from the article: “Anton Chekhov: The Role of Author in Russian Society” written by F. Joseph Dresen.
