Bengals fall to Broncos, Bounce Back to Defeat Blues In Boise
BOISE, ID- The Bengals' men's tennis team traveled to Boise over the weekend, facing off against the Boise State Broncos and the Whitman University Blues. The Bengals fell to the Broncos on Saturday 5-2 and defeated the Blues Sunday 7-0.
The Bengals had several impressive doubles performances against the Broncos. Valentino De Pellegrin and Andreas Kramer won the No. 1 doubles match, and Patrick Kristensen and Wikus Robbertse won the No. 2 doubles match each by a score of 6-4. In the singles matches Idaho State's lone victory against the Broncos came in the No. 6 singles match by Ege Cankus with a score of 7-6 (7-9), 6-4, 1-0 (10-7).
In Idaho State's Sunday match with Whitman University all six men Patrick Kristensen, Andreas Kramer, Wikus Robbertse, Hiroki Fujita, Ethan Lye, and JW Altman won in straight sets in their singles matches. In the doubles matches V. De Pellegrin and Andreas Kramer won 6-1, Hiroki Fujita and Ege Cankus won 6-2, and JW Altman and Ethan Lye won in two sets 7-6, 8-6.
The Bengals men's tennis squad will be traveling to Las Vegas, Nevada for their next couple of matches against UNLV and UC San Diego on Friday, February 11th.
