Bengals Drop Doubleheader Games with Cal Poly
POCATELLO, Idaho – Idaho State softball dropped a pair of games against Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo, Calif., Tuesday evening.
In game one the Bengals held a 5-2 lead headed into the seventh before the mustangs were able to mount a comeback, forcing the game in to extra innings and taking the 6-5 victory.
In game two, Cal Poly jumped to an early lead and maintained the lead through the game for the 8-5 win over the Bengals.
Kate Hogan led the Bengals hitting .571 in her seven at-bats.
The Bengals hit .281 as a team, with 16 hits while holding Cal Poly to just .273.
Angelica Cano led the team in runs scored with three. Seven different Bengals scored runs in the two doubleheader games.
The Bengals are back in Fresno this next week taking on Fresno State, UC Davis and Southern Utah from Feb. 23-25.
