POCATELLO, Idaho – Thursday afternoon, the Idaho State track and field multi-event athletes wrapped up day one of the Klein/Mwaba multi-events in Santa Barbara, Calif..
Kylee Dimick had an impressive day one of the women's heptathlon. Starting the day off right, Dimick set a new personal best in the 100m hurdles with a time of 15.13 seconds.
Moving on to the high jump, Dimick won the event clearing a height of 1.73m (5-8).
Continually improving throughout the day, the Bengal smashed her personal best in the shot put with a throw of 10.46m (34-4) and a new personal record in the 200m running a time of 25.44 seconds.
Dimick sits in first place with 3123 points, holding a 79-point lead in the event. Tomorrow wraps up with the long jump, javelin and 800m.
A duo of Bengal men wrapped up day one of the men's decathlon.
After five events, Michael Shulikov is sitting in third place with a score of 3537 and Adam Jones is following in sixth.
Both events finish up tomorrow.
