POCATELLO, Idaho – Idaho State women's basketball has announced its second signing of the 2023 offseason, Maria Dias from Lisbon, Portugal.
Maria comes to the Bengals after the previous two seasons at the College of the Sequoias in Visalia, California.
Dias, a 5-9 guard, has put up an impressive resume in her previous two seasons. She was named Central Valley Conference 1st team this past season and also earned CCCAA 2nd team all-state. At the Jan Joaquin Delta Jocelyn Mancebo tournament, Dias was named MVP.
Her past two years, Maria has averaged 14.3 ppg, a 41.7 field goal percentage, 6.4 rebounds per game and 4.1 assists per game.
Head Coach Seton Sobolewski had this to say about Maria, "Maria is an athletic guard with a great ability to shoot the pull-up and create for teammates. She has a natural feel for the game with great instincts."
