Dimick Leads Field Day One in Greeley, Multis Complete First Day of Competition

GREELEY, Co – After a hard-fought day of events, Kylee Dimick leads the Heptathlon field at the 2023 Big Sky Outdoor Track and Field Championships.

The Bengals sent three multi-athletes to Greeley for the Championships. Two heptathletes in Kylee Dimick and Cassie Robbins, and in the men's decathlon, Adam Jones is repping the Orange and Black.

After starting the day with the 100mH, the Bengal women made their way to the high jump pit where they showed their strength. After a back-and-forth battle, Dimick cleared 1.73 (5-8) on her first attempt to finish in the first-place spot, earning 891 points.

Robbins followed right up in third clearing 1.64m (5-4.5).

Moving onto the shotput, on her third throw, Dimick threw a personal best 10.48m (34-4.75).

The two Bengal women continued climbing in the final event of the day, the 200m dash.

Dimick crossed the line second with a personal best time of 25.40 seconds. Robbins followed it up with another Bengal PR, finishing 4th with a time of 26.32 seconds.

At the end of day one, Kylee Dimick leads the field with a total of 3164 points. Robbins is sitting in sixth with 2791 points and room to move.

In the men's decathlon, Adam Jones started the day with a personal best 100m dash. Jones crossed the line fourth with the new PR time of 11.23 seconds.

In the final field event of the day, the high jump, Jones finished fifth with a clearance of 1.81m (5-11.25).

At the end of day one, Jones is sitting in seventh place with 3283 points and five events to go.

The Bengals conclude the two events tomorrow in Greeley.
