Bengal Soccer Ties Bears, Falls to Lumberjacks

FLAGSTAFF, Arizona- The Idaho State soccer team finished up their two away matches this week. Their first match was in Greeley against Northern Colorado and the second was in Flagstaff versus Northern Arizona.

In the match versus Northern Colorado, we saw the Bengals and the Bears end in a draw 1-1. Idaho State opened the scoring with a Jordyn Roth free-kick goal in the 54th minute of the match. The Bengals held the lead down the remainder of the game until the 89th minute, allowing a Bears goal to tie the match 1-1. Kelsey Jargstorf played all 90 minutes in goal for the Bengals, making seven saves and allowing one goal. Midfielder, Jordyn Roth finished with 1 goal off of 1 shot on goal in 25 minutes played.

On Sunday afternoon the Bengals took on Northern Arizona in Flagstaff, AZ. The Bengals went into the halftime break trailing the Lumberjacks 0-1, after an NAU goal in the 20th minute. In the second half the Bengals could not slow down the Lumberjack offense, allowing three more goals in the 50th, 65th, and 80th minutes of the match. Idaho State was able to get on the board thanks to a Rachel Fullmer goal in the 72nd minute of the contest. Kelsey Jargstorf was in goal all 90 minutes for the Bengals, making 10 saves and allowing four goals. Rachel Fullmer netted her first goal on the season with one shot on goal in 38 minutes played.
