Bengals Fall to #24 Cougars in Pullman

POCATELLO, Idaho – Idaho State women's basketball fell to the Washington State Cougars 64-47 Sunday afternoon in Pullman, Wash.

After the Bengals scored the first points of the game from a Taisa Jordan jump shot. The Cougars re-took the lead and held it for the remainder of the game.

A slow second quarter was the difference maker in the game as the Bengals and Cougars battled evenly throughout the second half of the game.

The Bengals were held to 25.8 percent shooting from the floor, but hit 78.6 percent free throws going 11-of-14 from the charity stripe. Despite the height of the Cougars, the Bengals played strong on the glass keeping an even rebound margin with WSU grabbing 44 boards. The Bengals also took advantage of 19 offensive boards scoring 18 second-chance points while holding the Cougars to two points. Laura Bello and Kacey Spink had 11 boards each. Jordan led the Bengals scoring with 10 points on five field goals.
