May is Better Speech and Hearing month. There is a critical need in our communities for increasing awareness of, understanding of, and services for Language and Literacy Disorders in Children. Such disorders are underdiagnosed but have significant impact on educational and economic outcomes and overall well-being. This month we have Dr. Diane Ogiela, a faculty member from our speech-language pathology program to talk about the impact of hearing and language skills and communication and long term social, educational and vocational outcomes for individuals with communication disorders.
