The College of Education prepares students for meaningful careers focused on improving the lives of others. Our graduates go on to serve and lead in diverse contexts, including K-12 schools, businesses, community organizations, higher education, and more. In addition to providing a range of programs at the bachelors, masters and doctoral level, the College of Education offers minors and certificates to help students strengthen their resumes and prepare them for the workplace. With a focus on learning by doing and reflective practice, our students graduate ready to excel and to change lives.

  • Host Dean Jean McGivney-Burelle interviews Helen and Donald Nielson, both originally from southeast Idaho and alumni of ISU. Helen and Donald reflect on the teachers that inspired them and their careers outside of Idaho. Both have a passion for education and started their scholarship to give the gift of education to others. Host Dean Jean also interviews Allende Pacheco, the recipient of Helen and Donald's scholarship for the last 2 years, about how he decided to become a teacher and how grateful he is for their generous scholarship.
