In Part II, Political Science Program graduate of ISU Eizaak Jordan discusses his CPI position. CPI is Career Path Internship, and Jordan is one of the pioneers of the program. He was able to work in his career field during his undergrad as an intern while getting a salary from ISU.
Jordan also touches on the influential classes he took while at the university, explaining the skillsets they build set students up for success after graduation regardless of their career choice. Jordan's grant writing class taught by Professor Kirkpatrick played an important role in both his educational and professional journey, as his role today includes lots of grant writing.
Jordan stresses the importance of connecting the Pocatello community to the campus, and as a student getting out to the events to build your social network. He offers advice for prospective students, encouraging them to find their passions and interests through elective courses. He explains it's OK to go a different direction from your chosen major, and any major can essentially be made to fit the mold of what you want for your career.
