Mountain Westerners share concern over democracy and misinformation
A new survey of several Mountain West states found that 85% of respondents are concerned about our Democracy. Research firm Morning Consult talked with nearly 1900 people. Most were also concerned about misinformation and expect more violence similar to what we saw on January 6.

New research finds SNAP work requirements reduce food aid participation without boosting employment
The declines were felt across the Mountain West. In Idaho, SNAP participation fell nearly 8%. Nevada saw a drop of more than 14%. In Arizona, participation fell by nearly 34%. New Mexico saw a decrease of about 6%, while Wyoming dropped by more than 11%.

Solar cars visit Pocatello July 15 & 16
On July 15 and 16, solar cars participating in the American Solar Challenge 2022 on the Oregon National Historic Trail will be coming to Historic Downtown Pocatello. The solar cars are expected to arrive on Friday, July 15 between 1:15pm-6:00pm. On Saturday, July 16, the solar cars will start the final stage of the event beginning at 9:00am.

The 83,000 surpasses the previous record from mid-July by about 6,000. In addition, 943 people died from COVID-19 on Friday. Cases of the virus have been rising in the U.S. since mid-September.
