POCATELLO, Idaho - The Idaho State Bengal softball team was picked to finish fifth in the Big Sky Conference preseason softball poll as announced by conference officials Tuesday morning.
The Bengals are coming off of one of the more successful seasons in recent memory that ended in the third round of the Big Sky Softball Tournament after first-year head coach Andrew Rich led the program to its first tournament win since the 2017 season.
The Bengals open the 2023 campaign Friday, Feb. 10 as they take on Central Arkansas in Lake Charles, LA.
The 2023 Big Sky Softball Championship will be held May 10-13 at Weber State's Wildcat Softball Field in Ogden, Utah. The six league teams will advance to the double-elimination tournament, with the champion earning the Big Sky's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.
