Idahoans can get their hearing checked for free at an upcoming Idaho State University-Meridian event.
The free screenings will be held from 3-6 p.m. Feb. 16 at the university’s Speech and Language Clinic, 1311 E. Central Drive in Meridian.
No appointment is necessary, and clinicians will see adults, teens and children as young as 3 years old, according to an ISU press release. Speech-language pathology graduate students, under the supervision of licensed speech-language pathologists, will conduct the screenings.
Participants will receive their results immediately, including referrals if further evaluation is needed, according to organizers.
“These hearing screenings provide a valuable service to individuals in the greater ISU community as well as foundational experiences for ISU graduate students as they complete their training as speech-language pathologists,” said Megan Izzo, speech-language pathology graduate student and a graduate teaching assistant in the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders.
