WBB Announces Olivia Luu as Assistant Coach

POCATELLO, Idaho – Head Coach Seton Sobolewski has announced the addition of Olivia Luu to the Bengal Coaching staff for the 2023-24 season.

Luu joins the Bengals from Cal Poly Pomona where she has been coaching since the 2021 season.

"After interviewing several people, Olivia surfaced as the most talented and ready," remarked Sobolewski. "She has good experience and has had great mentoring at Gonzaga and Pomona. Our entire staff is excited to start working with her!

"She is a talented up-and-coming coach who was recognized by the Women's Basketball Association "30 under 30" in 2023."

In 2023, Luu was named to the 30 under 30 list. 30 under 30 was created to recognize 30 un and coming women's basketball coaches aged 30 and under at all levels of the game. Each honoree has exemplified their involvement in community service, mentorship and impact on others, professional manner, and attitude and professional association involvement.

As a student-athlete, Luu played college ball for William Jessup University in California where she was a three-year captain for the team.

Luu then worked as a graduate assistant at Gonzaga from 2019 to 2021 where she completed a masters of arts in Organizational Leadership.

In 2019, Luu participated in the WBCA's "So You Want to Be a Coach" program.
