FLAGSTAFF, Arizona - The Idaho State soccer team completed their first conference tournament match since 2014 Wednesday afternoon. The Bengals gave it their all, but fell to Portland State 1-4.
The Bengals got started early, opening the scoring in the 20th minute of the match off of Kaylyn Buchanan's seventh goal on the season, assisted by a beautiful pass from Saydree Bell. The Bengals took the lead into the halftime break, 1-0. The second half would be a much different story as the Vikings put the heat on, scoring 4 goals in a 12-minute span, and downing the Bengals 4-1.
Kelsey Jargstorf played 81 minutes in goal for the Bengals, making four saves and allowing four goals. Forward Kaylyn Buchanan finished with the Bengals' lone goal off of one shot on goal in the contest, playing in all 90 minutes. Forward Saydree Bell finished with 1 assist and 2 shots on goal in 80 minutes played.
