POCATELLO, Idaho – The Idaho State men's tennis team has climbed into the Intercollege Tennis Association's rankings for the first-ever time, cracking the top 75 at number 72. The Bengals possess a 6-4 overall record this season including the program's first-ever wins over Air Force and the University of Utah. The Bengals are already off to a strong start amongst the Big Sky Conference, as they have earned the most amount of wins thus far this season out of any team, and have now been awarded back to back Player of the Week award honors with Wikus Robbertse bringing home the title last week and Valentino De Pellegrin winning this week.
The Bengals will face tough tests this weekend as they travel to Logan, Utah to face off with #52 ranked Utah State and Provo, Utah for a match with the BYU Cougars. Idaho State has already faced off with the Aggies once this season, as the Bengals would fall to USU 2-5 at home in Reed Gym, and ISU is searching for their first-ever win over BYU.
