Multis Earn First Big Sky Medal at Day One of Conference Championships

Full Results - Day 1

Spokane, WA - The stage was set for the Idaho State teams to run with some of the best talent in all of Division 1 Track, and on day one of the Big Sky Indoor Championships, they did just that.

The first day consisted of the multis for the Bengals, and the top finisher for the team, and most of the conference, was freshman Josie Settle. In a Pentathlon where the top slots were neck-and-neck most of the way, the young Bengal recorded top-3 finishes in three of her five events, tying for first place in the 60mH with a time of 8.77 seconds, and recording a height of 1.65m (5'5") in the high jump, both of which were PRs. She also earned a third-place finish in the long jump at 5.59 (18'04.25) all of which aided in a third-place finish in the multis and the first all-conference honors of her young career. Settle's final score in the pentathlon, 3,668 points, is the 9th-best in school history.

Elsewhere, Kaila Mederios recorded season-best performances in the 60mH and the 800m, with times of 9.18 seconds and 2:38.21, respectively, and Kenadee Tracy earned a new PR in the high jump at 1.47 (4'9.75").

The action will resume tomorrow at 11AM MT, with the short and middle-distance races, as well as pole vault and throws highlighting the action for the Bengals.
