POCATELLO, Idaho – After a season of hard work and struggle, the Idaho State women's basketball team's season comes to a head in Boise for the 2024 Big Sky Basketball Tournament.
The #7 seed Bengals will take on the #8 seed Sacramento State Hornets in the first round of the tournament.
The game will be broadcast on ESPN+ for video.

Bengals vs Hornets
This will be the 56th meeting all-time between the Idaho State Bengals and the Sacramento State Hornets going back to 1997.
The Bengals and Hornets are 1-1 this season with each team winning on their home court. Both the Bengals and Hornets have played better this season on their home courts and it is yet to be seen how a neutral court might affect the two teams' performances.
The two teams have met in the Big Sky tournament twice and are 1-1 against one another. In 2012, the Bengals won 70-57 and in 2013 the Hornets won the rematch 73-60.
Between the two games, the Bengals have outscored the Hornets 120-109. In the Bengals' loss on 2/8, the Hornets won with a three-point, 61-58 margin.
Against the Hornets, Maria Dias has led the Bengals averaging 13.5 ppg
While holding a season average with a positive rebound margin, the Bengals lost the rebound battle during the regular season against the Hornets 71-65 (-3.0 avg).
The Bengals shot the three much better than their average against the Hornets, averaging a 3ptr percentage of .370 in the two games against Sac State, much higher than the Bengals' seaon average of .289.
About the Tournament
The 2024 Big Sky Men's and Women's Basketball Championships take place March 9-13 at Idaho Central Arena in Boise, Idaho. The tournament champions will receive automatic berths to the NCAA Division I Basketball Championship.
For the ninth-straight season, all Big Sky members will compete in the conference tournament with the field featuring 10 teams for both the men and women in 2024. All games will be available to stream on ESPN+ and the Championship Games will be aired on the ESPN family of networks.
