POCATELLO, Idaho – The Idaho State Bengals (25-25) fell to the BYU Cougars 5-1 Tuesday afternoon at Miller Ranch Stadium
The Bengals put together three full scoreless innings before the Cougars were able to break the stalemate in the fourth with an RBI single to left field.
Skyler Sethman had the first hit of the game in the bottom of the 2nd.
BYU added three more runs to take a 5-0 lead in to the seventh.
With one runner out in the bottom of the 7th, Piper Tago broke up the shutout with a homerun blast over the left-centerfield wall. The homerun was Tago's first of the 2024 season and her 11th hit for the Orange and Black this year.
Leadoff batters were the other bright spot for the Bengals in the loss, reaching on .429 percent of at bats against the Cougars.

The Bengals have one more regular season game scheduled for tomorrow, May 1 against the UVU Wolverines weather permitting. First pitch is scheduled for 4:00 PM MT.
