ISU PERFORMING ARTS EVENTS

The Idaho State University School of Performing Arts is delighted to announce its highly anticipated 2024-2025 season, featuring an exciting lineup of theatrical productions and musical events. From classic plays to exhilarating musical performances, the upcoming season promises to captivate audiences of all ages and tastes.

This diverse and vibrant lineup promises to offer an unforgettable experience for theatergoers and music lovers alike.   1. The Clean House -  Written by Sarah Ruhl, this witty and poignant comedy-drama follows the story of a Brazilian cleaning woman who would rather be a comedian, her work-obsessed employer, and a group of fascinating characters whose lives become intertwined in unexpected ways. Filled with humor, heartache, and a touch of magical realism, The Clean House is a rich exploration of love, loss, and the beauty of imperfection. Directed by Jef Petersen.   2. Jazz Fest - Swing and groove in the world of improvisation, fast-paced rhythm, and toe-tapping musical fusion. More than a dozen Idaho high school jazz bands will have the honor of performing on the Jensen Grand Concert Hall stage while working with world-renowned fusion artist Randy Gloss over two full days, culminating in an explosive JazzFest headlining performance featuring Randy Gloss and ISU commercial music and jazz students.   4. Southeast Idaho Honor Band -Experience symphonic splendor in Jensen Grand Concert Hall, presented by select high school musicians from across the region and the ISU Wind Ensemble. A full day of intensive rehearsal concludes with a spectacular exhibition of collaboration and harmony. Organized and directed by Patrick Young. March 20, Jensen Hall, SPAC
  5. The Lightening Thief: The Percy Jackson Musical - This musical is a thrilling and adventurous stage adaptation of the beloved young adult novel by Rick Riordan. It follows the epic journey of Percy Jackson, a teenager who discovers he is the son of Poseidon and embarks on a quest to prevent a war among the gods. Filled with action, humor, and catchy musical numbers, the show takes audiences on a mythological adventure that celebrates friendship, bravery, and the power of self-discovery.
