The ISU COB Outstanding Student of the Year, Nicolette Scarduzio, and Professor of Informatics Dr. Tom Ottaway join Dean Hunt for the February '24 episode of the Bengal Business Radio Show.

This month on the Bengal Business Radio Show, Dean Shane Hunt first welcomed Nicolette Scarduzio, the Outstanding Student of the Year for the ISU College of Business. They discuss Nicolette's studies in Business Administration and her leadership as an academic and student athlete. Part II of this program features Dr. Thomas Ottaway, ISU Professor of Informatics, for a discussion about AI in Business.

Nicolette Scarduzio ‘24
B.B.A. Finance and Marketing with certificates in Final Literacy and Professional Sales - Nicolette is a Bachelor of Business Administration student with a 3.90 GPA. She excels not only academically but also as a leader in Bengal athletics, particularly as a member of the ISU women’s soccer team. Her commitment extends to community service through the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, demonstrating her advocacy for the well-being of fellow student-athletes. With valuable financial management experience gained as a Finance CPI in the Athletics Department, Nicolette is poised to pursue an MBA at the University of Rhode Island while continuing her soccer journey after graduating in three years from ISU.

Part II -
Thomas Ottaway - Tom has a Ph.D. in Production and Operations Management and a Master of Science in Information Systems from the Rawls College of Business at Texas Tech University, as well as a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Wichita State University. Tom worked in aerospace, including more than six years with The Boeing Company, prior to pursuing his doctorate. He has held academic positions at the University of Montana and Kansas State University prior to joining ISU twenty-one years ago. Tom has three children (two who attended ISU and one who attended that silly school to the west that has a blue football field, he’s been disinherited) and two grandchildren.

Dr. Shane Hunt is the Dean of the College of Business and a Professor of Marketing at Idaho State University. Shane is the recipient of the 2010 National Inspire Integrity Award from the National Society of Collegiate Scholars, the 2010 Lt. Col. Barney Smith Award as Professor of the Year and the 2015 Honors Professor of the Year at Arkansas State University, and the 2019 National Teaching Innovation Award from the Association of Collegiate Marketing Educators. Shane’s research has appeared in The Journal of Personal Selling and Sales Management, The Journal of Business Logistics and he has been invited to present to numerous organizations including the American Marketing Association and the National Conference in Sales Management. Shane is also the co-author of McGraw-Hill’s newest Principles of Marketing textbook that is being used by students across the country. After completing his MBA at the University of Oklahoma, Shane went to work for a Fortune 500 company in Tulsa, OK and spent eight years working as a pricing analyst, product manager, and business development manager overseeing numerous Mergers and Acquisitions initiatives before completing his Ph.D. at Oklahoma State University. Shane lives in Pocatello, ID with his wife Jenifer and their two children, Andrew and Sarah.
