BFLS explains ISU's COB 2025 Financial Literacy Week events from April 7th to 10th

Chris Chatwin welcomes Presley Arrowood, Director of Marketing and Communication of the ISU College of Business, to talk about Financial Literacy Week 2025. Idaho State University's Financial Literacy Week, planned for April 7 to 10 in 2025, aims to educate students on financial planning, taxes, estate planning, real estate, and insurance. Financial Literacy Week events also feature swag and drawings for cash prizes. Chris poses a question for, and extends an Financial Literacy Week invitation to, Post Malone.

Finance Trivia Pop-ups

April 2 & 3 | 12:00pm - 1:00pm in Rendezvous (on the 2nd) and the SUB (on the 3rd) We'll be spreading the word about Financial Literacy Week across campus! Stop by and play our 'Let's Get This Bread' trivia game to win donuts and swag. These pop-ups will also be great places to get your Financial Literacy Week punch card - attend all of the next week's events for a chance at winning the biggest cash prize of the week!

Trivia Night

Monday, April 7 | 6:00pm in the SUB Wood River Room: Fluent in finance, or just into trivia? Gather your team of up to 6 people and get ready for a night of fun! Trivia will be divided into sections with one related to financial literacy and the rest pop-culture / general knowledge.

Bengal Business Movie Night

Tuesday, April 8 | 7:00pm at the Bengal Theater: April's Bengal Business Movie, in conjunction with Financial Literacy Week, is Barbarians at the Gate. Enjoy free admission, popcorn and drinks! Discussion of the financial relevancy of the film to follow.

Keynote Speaker Todd Howe, Chief Credit Officer at Citizens Community Bank

Wednesday, April 9 | 4:00pm in BA 104: Todd will present "Your Credit Score: Why it Matters" with a Q&A and refreshments to follow.

Financial Literacy for All - Panel Discussion

Thursday, April 10 | 4:00pm in BA 104: Hear about finance from experts and how it relates to their fields (and why you should care) including estate planning, insurance, real estate and more. Refreshments to follow.

Chris Chatwin, DBA, CPA is a member of the Finance and Economics teaching faculty in the College of Business at Idaho State University. Chris obtained a BS in Economics and BBA in Accounting as well as an MBA with a Finance Emphasis at Idaho State University. Chris obtained a Doctor of Business Administration with a Finance Emphasis from the University of Florida. After obtaining his BS and BBA Chris spent several years in Financial Planning and Wealth Management while also operating a small business consulting and tax practice. Chris now teaches Personal Finance at the University and also heads the new Financial Literacy Certificate program being offered through the College of Business.
