Bengal Health Chat - Homeland Security and Emergency Management

College of Health Dean Teresa Conner welcomes Professor Laurie Holien and master’s student Micky Stegman to the show for a discussion on Homeland Security and Emergency Management and what these professionals do. Recent incidents such as school shootings, the COVID-19 pandemic, wildfires, climate change and extreme weather, parade vehicle attack and the attack on the US capitol last year are all events where Homeland Security and Emergency Management professionals could respond. Issues can be local, national and international. Micky Stegman explains why she selected this major for both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees and where she hopes her career will take her.
