Guest Bio: John Louviere, PhD, serves as the Chief Officer for Online Enterprise and Extended Learning at Idaho State University, where he leads the Albion Institute—an enterprise designed to expand access, scale academic innovation, and strengthen the university’s impact across diverse learner populations. In this role, he partners with faculty and academic units to develop market-responsive programs, build sustainable operational systems, and create flexible learning pathways that meet students where they are. His work focuses on aligning workforce needs with academic excellence, advancing stackable credentials, and establishing models that generate new resources for the university through growth and reinvestment.

With over 20 years of experience spanning K–12, higher education, and industry, Dr. Louviere has held senior leadership roles in academic operations, instructional innovation, and learning analytics. He previously served as Executive Director and Assistant Vice President at Utah State University and as a senior executive in the private sector, where he led the development of scalable eLearning and data-driven learning systems serving hundreds of thousands of learners. His career has been defined by building integrated academic and technological ecosystems that enhance teaching effectiveness, improve student outcomes, and extend the reach of higher education institutions.

Dr. Robert W. Wagner began serving as the fourteenth president of Idaho State University on January 29, 2024. Prior to his appointment, he was Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer at Utah State University, where he led strategic initiatives, enrollment management, and key aspects of the student experience, including recruitment, admissions, financial aid, retention, and completion. He also held several leadership roles within USU’s Provost’s Office, overseeing statewide campuses, academic programming, faculty development, and distance education, and has contributed nationally through service on advisory boards and higher education associations.
