The Stories Behind the Cases With Nate Eaton

In this episode of ISU Impact: Engaging With the College of Arts and Letters, Nate Eaton joins Dr. Kirsten Mink to discuss the intersection of reporting and forensic science.

Eaton shares how he knew he wanted to be a reporter at age 12 and reflects on covering some of the nation’s most high-profile cases, including the Lori Vallow and Chad Daybell case. Dr. Mink highlights how ISU forensic science students gain hands-on experience each year, working alongside law enforcement to assist in solving real murder cases.

Together, they provide a behind-the-scenes look at how investigative journalism and forensic science intersect in the pursuit of truth, offering insights into both the challenges and rewards of uncovering stories.
