Pharmacy Fusion welcomes Debbie Marchetti

We all know someone with diabetes. A friend, family member or other acquaintance. Around 38 million, or one in ten people have diabetes. That’s an alarming number, but now consider that 96 million have prediabetes! That’s one in three American adults. Additionally, more than 84 percent of people with prediabetes don’t know they have it. It is important to understand that this number is growing exponentially every year. The increase in 2020 alone is just under five percent! On this episode of Pharmacy Fusion, Debbie Marchetti, a pharmacist at Ed Snell’s Pharmacy and College of Pharmacy alumna shares how increasing awareness of prediabetes and its path to type 2 diabetes can help reduce the incidence of diabetes in Americans by 90 percent.
