Sustainable Idaho: Climbing: Can't Take it for Granite

In this week’s episode, Charlie speaks with Bryce Walker, the coordinator for the Idaho State University climbing wall, and one of the recreation coordinators for the Outdoor Adventure Center. They discuss the nature of Idaho’s climbing culture, how our public land climbing areas can be impacted from increased visitation, and how climbing communities can foster a more sustainable future for the sport.

Charlie Medema is a senior biology major with a concentration in ecology and conservation. He is a major lover of the outdoors and an aspiring wildlife biologist. Charlie has lived in Idaho his entire life and is excited to contribute to public awareness of the state’s amazing natural resources, eco-cultural identity, and sustainability by conversing with a wide variety of organizations.
