Don't Call it Jazz: Video Game Music Ensemble

DCiJ

On this week’s episode, Jon dives into video game music with Ryker Reese, a talented sophomore in the commercial music program at ISU. Ryker is a young expert in video game music who has opened up Jon’s eyes and ears to this burgeoning artistic movement.

Jon and Ryker discuss some of the key artists of the scene, while listening to covers, arrangements, and reimaginings of video game themes and melodies. Video game music is a growing part of the music industry as a whole, and has taken a particularly strong hold on the jazz community.

Many thanks to Ryker for joining the show, we’ll be sure to do another video game music episode in the future!
