The Idaho State University athletics department is proud to announce the 2025 Sports Hall of Fame class, a distinguished group of former student-athletes whose legacies have left an indelible mark on the Bengal community. This year’s inductees are: Lindsey Reed Ahumada, Vicky Galasso, George Kyvernitis, David Schroeder, Dan Taylor, and Kelly Rae who will be honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award.
The official induction ceremony will take place on ISU’s Pocatello campus on Saturday, November 8, preceding the Bengal football team’s Big Sky Conference clash with Cal Poly at the ICCU Dome (4:00pm kickoff).
“This Hall of Fame class represents the very best of what it means to be a Bengal — excellence in competition, resilience in the face of adversity, and a deep commitment to the university and their communities,” said ISU Director of Athletics Pauline Thiros. “Each of these honorees has elevated Idaho State Athletics in remarkable ways, and we are thrilled to celebrate their extraordinary achievements.”
Lindsey Reed Ahumada
Lindsey’s impressive resume includes First Team All-Conference honors, two Big Sky All-Tournament Team selections, a pivotal role in ISU’s 2012 conference championship team, and recognition on the 2010–2020 ISU All-Decade Team. She ranks fifth in all-time scoring at ISU with 1,492 points and ninth in rebounds, among other notable achievements. Beyond the stats, what truly set Lindsey apart was her relentless competitiveness — she brought unmatched intensity and drive from her first game to her last, consistently playing with heart and grit on a team known for its fierce spirit.
Vicky Galasso
As one of the most accomplished athletes in the history of ISU Softball Vicky holds numerous all-time records, including career home runs (62), RBIs (222), total bases (493), and slugging percentage (.770). Her accolades include being the first-ever Big Sky Conference Player of the Year, earning multiple All-Conference and All-Region honors, and national recognition such as selection to the USA Softball Top 50 Watch List and EspnW National Player of the Week.
George Kyvernitis
A dominant force during his Bengal career, George compiled a stellar 63-31 singles record and a 40-36 doubles record, excelling primarily in the #1 position. He is one of only ten players in Big Sky Conference history — and just the second from ISU — to earn All-Conference First Team honors all four years. His accolades include the 1999 Big Sky MVP award and a key role in leading the Bengals to a 50-29 team record during his time in Pocatello.
David Schroeder
A standout multi-sport athlete at ISU, David was known for his resilience, athleticism, and elite shooting. After walking on to the basketball team following a stellar high school football career, he became ISU’s 12th all-time leading scorer, shooting 46.5% from the field and 43.1% from three — second-best in school history. A two-time All-Conference selection and Big Sky All-Tournament honoree, David also excelled in track as an all-conference decathlete. Overcoming two ACL injuries, his work ethic and versatility made him one of the most accomplished and driven athletes in ISU history.
Dan Taylor
Dan was a dominant offensive lineman on the Idaho State football team during the 1978, 1980, 1981, and 1982 seasons, serving as a key leader on the 1981 national championship team. Renowned for his strength, technique, and consistency, he earned First Team All-Conference honors in 1982 alongside two would-be ISU Hall of Famers (Jim Lane and Steve Anderson). His impact helped propel the Bengals’ record-breaking offense under Coach Dave Kragthorpe. One of only a handful of ISU offensive linemen to ever reach the NFL, Dan went on to sign with the Dallas Cowboys, cementing his legacy as one of ISU’s all-time greats in the trenches.
Kelly Rae
Arriving at ISU in the late 1970s with determination and humility, Kelly earned a softball scholarship and has remained deeply committed to the university ever since. Her inspiring career in law enforcement and later work in developing affordable housing reflect her dedication to service and making a difference. Alongside her partner Pamela, she has generously supported ISU academics and athletics through endowed scholarships and program funding, while personally mentoring, encouraging, and uplifting countless student-athletes.
A full release of each of the 2025 inductees will occur on a weekly basis starting Wednesday, June 4.
