ISU Track & Field Collects Titles and Records at Big Sky Conference Championships!

The Idaho State Track and Field program wrapped up an outstanding week at the 2026 Big Sky Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championships, hosted by Portland State University. The Bengals brought home conference titles, school records, All-Conference honors, and numerous point-scoring performances.

Leading the way for Idaho State were three individual conference champions.

Axel Tirado-Sanchez captured the Big Sky Conference title in the men’s discus with a throw of 60.14m, making it the third conference title of his career. With the victory, Tirado-Sanchez became just the sixth male athlete in conference history to win the outdoor discus title three or more times. His mark currently ranks 14th in the NCAA this season.

Chris Lupkes put together a record-breaking performance in the men’s hammer throw, claiming the conference title while setting a new school record with a throw of 64.95m.

Tom Stoelken successfully defended his conference crown in the decathlon, earning back-to-back conference titles after totaling 7,202 points across the two-day event.

The Bengals also brought home several Big Sky All-Conference honors throughout the championship meet.

Josie Settle brought home silver with her second place finish in the heptathlon (5,001 pts). Axel Tirado-Sanchez (shot put, 17.39m), Brielle Ricks (pole vault, 3.89m), Jackson Wilkey (high jump, 2.06m), Seth Babbel (10,000m, 29:57.96), and Tori Conrad (high jump, 1.71m) all finished third in their events, bringing home bronze!

In addition to the conference champions and All-Conference performers, Idaho State saw several Bengals contribute point-scoring performances throughout the Championship week:

Porter Sutton – Triple Jump – 8th place – 14.06m

Jordyn Kearn – Discus – 6th place – 44.75m

Seth Babbel – 5,000m– 5th place – 14:01.79s – personal best

Ashley Reeck – 5,000m – 7th place – 16:39.03s

McKoy Richardson – 400m Hurdle – 7th place – 53.98s

Anise Becker – 400m Hurdle – 8th place – 1:04.23s

Khutsisa Rampete – 100m – 7th place – 10.74s

Sunny Gunn – 1,500m – 7th place – 3:48.45s

Kaiden Lee – High Jump – 4th place – 2.06m

Migail Van Huysteen – Pole Vault – 5th place – 4.74m

Ashleey Reeck – 3,000M Steeplechase – 4th Place – 10:14.24s

Adam Jones – Javelin – 5th place – 61.82m – personal best

Brynn Bider – Heptathlon – 8th place – 4,496 pts

Lydia Lindsey – Heptathlon – 5th place – 4,746 pts

The NCAA DI West Regionals will take place in Fayetteville, Arkansas, Wednesday, May 27, through Saturday, May 30.
