Pocatello Film Society's 20th Year of Films at Bengal Theater

Bob Devine, Film Coordinator with the Pocatello Film Society (PFS), chats with KISU's McKenzie about the 20th year of showing films at Idaho State University and how it's celebrating with 20 of PFS favorite films that were shown over the past 20 years.

PFS mission is to show insightful films that offer something in the way of deepening our understanding of life, of people, of history, and the human condition. Too many theaters favor the Hollywood machine of mind numbing and repetitive movies. The Pocatello Film Society seeks to show films that will inspire or provoke thought.

Oscar winner "Little Women" plays on Sunday, December 14th, at 4 and 7 p.m. in the Bengal Theater at the ISU Pond Student Union. It's a $1 admission day for this retelling of the classic novel by Louisa May Alcott, starring Timothee Chalamet, Saiorse Ronan and Meryl Streep. Set in the years after the Civil War, four sisters navigate their way through to adulthood, relationships and careers, while dealing with the limiting customs of the time. The BBC calls it, "A gorgeous and very warm film… it brings a different perspective without losing the magic of the novel." Admission is $1 or free for ISU students with a Bengal ID.
