ISU Three Minute Thesis Competition

The ISU Graduate School is encouraging graduate students to submit an abstract for the upcoming Three Minute Thesis (3MT) Competition.

Graduate students from all disciplines are encouraged to participate. This year's first-place winner will be awarded $1,500. Top participants will represent ISU at state and regional competitions in the spring.

Founded by the University of Queensland in 2008, the Three Minute Thesis (3MT) is an academic competition that cultivates students’ presentation and science communication skills. The competition challenges them to describe their research within three minutes to a general audience. The competition at Idaho State University will be hybrid this year and is open to all degree-seeking masters and doctoral students, in all disciplines, who are pursuing scholarly work or research.

An information session will be held on October 27th at10:00 am on Zoom or in-person at the Graduate School Conference Room on the fourth floor of the Museum Building.

Applications are due November 1st!

The event will be held on November 18 at the Stephens Performing Arts Center, followed by an awards reception.
