The Alturas Institute presents "Russia's War on Ukraine"

The Alturas Institute and The City Club of Idaho Falls are coming together for a presentation on March 30th at 7pm

The evenings presenters will be:
Jeff Carr, a former Russia and East Europe analyst for the CIA, where he authored numerous presidential briefings for two different administrations. He also holds a master's degree from Stanford University in Russian, East European, and Eurasian Studies, and has spent years living, working, and traveling throughout that broad region. After returning to his hometown of Idaho Falls, he now works at the Museum of Idaho and teaches humanities courses at CEI. He continues daily consumption of Russian-language news and analysis and gives occasional presentations. He is married with three children.

Karen Leibert has a PhD in Russian History with a minor in Modern Europe from the University of Maryland. She has been a recipient of Ford Foundation research grant and a recipient of an International Research and Exchanges research grant, but because of the boycott of the 1980 Olympics in the Soviet Union this was cancelled by the Soviet government, and she received a Fulbright research grant to work in the Slavic Collection at the University of Helsinki, Finland. As an Adjunct Professor of History at Idaho State University she has taught the classes Russian History;Twentieth-Century Europe; and U.S. Russia, and the Cold War.


This event will be held at University Place, Tingey auditorium in Idaho Falls, Idaho, 1776 Science Center Drive. Tickets will be sold at the door. Admission is $10. There is no admission charge for teachers and students. Doors open at 6:15 p.m. Event begins at 7pm
