Stefanie Fuchs is an accomplished educator, instructional leader, and mentor with more than two decades of experience serving students across Idaho. A lifelong Idaho resident, Stefanie, has dedicated her career to fostering critical thinking, historical understanding, and student success in both the classroom and the broader school community. She currently teaches U.S. History, World History, and World Mythology at Rigby High School, where she inspires students through engaging instruction, innovative use of technology, and a commitment to meeting the diverse needs of learners.
Stefanie earned her Bachelor of Science in History Education with a minor in English Education from Brigham Young University-Idaho and has continued to expand her professional expertise through advanced certification in social studies education. Throughout her career, she has taught a wide range of courses, including English, U.S. History, World History, and World Mythology, developing rigorous curricula that challenge students while making complex concepts accessible and meaningful.
Beyond the classroom, Stefanie has demonstrated exceptional leadership as a Social Studies Department Chair, Professional Learning Community facilitator, Student Council Advisor, and cooperating teacher for future educators. She is passionate about supporting colleagues, mentoring student teachers, and promoting professional growth among educators. Her educational philosophy emphasizes the importance of caring for students' overall well-being and building strong partnerships among schools, families, and communities to help every student succeed.
In recognition of her dedication and impact, Stefanie was recently nominated and won the Gilder Lerman National History Teacher of the Year award for Idaho. She also serves as an America 250 Co-Chair, helping promote historical education and civic engagement throughout the state.
A graduate of Bonneville High School, Class of 2001, Stefanie has lived and worked in Idaho her entire life. Outside of education, she enjoys spending time with her son, Logan, and is a devoted fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers. Her passion for teaching, leadership, and student development continues to make a lasting difference in the lives of the students and educators she serves.
