Episode 4: David P. AKA "Big Book Dave" finds purpose in 12 steps

In this episode, Dan and Sean share a conversation with David Palutsyn, AKA Big Book Dave. As a young boy, He experienced sexual abuse and suffered the loss of his father who committed suicide. David is a disabled amputee after losing three fingers of his left hand from a vehicle accident. Following several failed relationships, David struggled with alcoholism, drug addiction, and homelessness. He bounced from treatment center to treatment center and eventually crossed the “invisible line” in Recovery. Dan Miller is using his Military Veteran benefits to complete a graduate program at Idaho State University. Dan served gallantly as a Navy Hospital Corpsman in the Fleet Marine Forces. After his honorable discharge, Dan found himself redefined as a Veteran who battled with PTSD, alcoholism, substance abuse, and addiction. Dan found strength in Recovery, enjoys a life worth living, and is pursuing his MBA in Project Management.
Sean Gillim is a child alcoholic who found himself struggling with transitional stressors related to foster care, sexual abuse, and homelessness at a very young age. Facing numerous felony convictions and life-threatening health complications, Sean discovered recovery through a mandatory drug court program and enjoys serenity as a single parent. At present, Sean advocates recovery as a social media influencer.
