Episode 15: Veteran Treatment Court Judge Rick Carnaroli

Judge Rick Carnaroli, District Judge for the Sixth Judicial District in Bannock County, Idaho. He was appointed to the District Bench in January of 2018, by Idaho Governor “Butch” Otter. Judge Carnaroli’s case load includes civil and criminal matters and appeals from the Magistrate Division. He also helped establish and currently presides over the Veterans Treatment Court for the Sixth Judicial District.

Judge Carnaroli was appointed as a Sixth District Magistrate Judge in October of 2004 where his caseload included criminal law, domestic relations, probates, and unlawful detainers, among others. He has served on the Idaho Pro Bono Commission from 2008 to the present; as an Officer of the Idaho Magistrate Judges Association from 2013 until his appointment to the District Bench; and the Idaho State Bar Board of Commissioners from 2003 until 2006. Judge Carnaroli received his Bachelor’s Degree from Pacific University in 1980, his Juris Doctorate from Willamette University in 1985, and was admitted to the Idaho State Bar and the Idaho Federal Bar in 1985.
Rick and his wife Drema have four adult children who thankfully remain “out of the nest” and enjoy spending time with their two grandchildren Jackson and Levi and their 5 dogs. If you want to know “Who let the dogs out,” it is usually Judge Carnaroli!
