Navigating Diversity - International Students & The Criminalization of Immigration

intl_night_0.jpg

In this special episode of Navigating Diversity, host of KISU's Sustainable Idaho, Julie Raymond,  steps in as guest host to help navigate the topic, "International Students & The Criminalization of Immigration."

Julie Raymond is joined by guest Dr. Colin Johnson, Assistant Professor of Political Science at Idaho State, and Krystoff Kissoon, doctoral student in Political Science at ISU and traditional host of Navigating Diversity, who is stepping into the guest role for this episode to share his story.

The intention behind this episode is to provide some historical social, political, and economic context to the Immigration & Customs Enforcement (ICE) guidelines handed down on July 6th mandating that international students leave the United States if their colleges go online-only in the Fall.

Today, after the episode was recorded, the Trump administration agreed to rescind the guidelines following immediate backlash from 17 states and universities, businesses, and cities across the U.S.
