Don't Call It Jazz: Bad Snacks Part II

Bad snacks, the artist name for musician Jesse Hanson, came to ISU in January of 2024 as our 3rd annual commercial music artist in residence. She hung for a week working directly with ISU Commercial Music students producing an EP of their music.

Jesse was so inspiring and transformative for our CM program, that we started coming up with ideas to bring her back to perform. Nell Flanders and I put our heads together and began the ball rolling for a bad snacks pops concert with the ISCS and the ISU Commercial Music Big Band! That concert will be held at Jensen Hall on Friday March 20th

In celebration of that upcoming concert, I wanted to present two episodes of conversations and listening with Jesse. In episode 1, we discuss her background as a musician and artist, listening through several of her tracks and collaborations. In episode 2, we talk in depth about her week as the artist in residence program and listen to the tracks that resulted from her production.

The ISU Commercial Music Guest Artist Residency was sponsored in part by the ISU Cultural Events Committee and the Pocatello Arts Council
