Lenet Neifert is one of my favorite Pocatello people, a wonderful and powerful vocalist who came to Idaho from Los Angeles and has been a frequent collaborator of mine since 2023.
We have performed together at various events, and for a Juneteenth celebration in 2024, I asked her to start writing a song for the event. She came up with lyrics and a melody, and the two of us fleshed it out over the course of a few sessions. It then took over a year of production to get the song finished, and we released “You Knew” as a single in June of 2026.
Lenet joins me in studio to talk about the making of “You Knew” her life, her career, I accompany her singing a few songs on piano, and we also air the full master of “You Knew”
