KISU Host of Roar Report

Ricky Colapietro was born and raised in Alaska, coming to ISU in 2019 to begin his undergraduate degrees in Business Finance, Economics, and Management. Ricky is involved with the Honors program, as well as Chi Alpha, acting as a small group leader as well as the club treasurer. He has been working at his local radio station KVAK for a little over 4 years, being involved in many different functions at the studio, one of the most notable being a co-host to the weekly live radio show “Justin and Ricky’s Random Radio Show.” It airs locally in his hometown Valdez, Alaska live 3-4 pm every Thursday and Idaho listeners can listen to 5-6 pm MST on either the KVAK Radio app which can be found on the Google Play or Apple App store or the streaming option at kvakradio.com. The show features random facts, jokes, a holiday countdown, local news, and other shenanigans. Outside of school and work, Ricky enjoys fishing, working out, and playing video games with his friends.

  • KISU’s Ricky Colapietro interviews Erica Gardner, a senior at ISU studying accounting. Erica is the director of finance for ASISU. Erica works closely with the ASISU executives to manage ASISU’s finances to serve students the best. Erica enjoys the connections and relationships she’s made on campus.

  • KISU’s Ricky Colapietro interviews Dr. Tracy Collum, the Associate Dean for the Graduate School about the Graduate School’s upcoming Graduate Research Symposium. Graduate students can submit their thesis and research up to the deadline Wednesday, February 22nd. In this episode, they discuss the DRC’s upcoming Black History Month events and the events the Gender Resource Center is hosting. Ann shares her love for ISU as well as helping students find community and belonging.   • KISU’s Ricky Colapietro interviews Megan Condie, a student studying biology at ISU’s Idaho Falls campus. Megan is the ASISU Idaho Falls Vice President. She has some experience with ASISU, and enjoys serving her campus. Megan’s favorite part about ASISU and ISU is the community, and enjoys the family-like nature of the Idaho Falls campus.
  • KISU’s Ricky Colapietro interviews Dr. Bolinger, a management professor within ISU’s College of Business. In this episode, they discuss the upcoming speaker Anthony Klotz, an associate professor at the University College of London in management. Anthony predicted and coined the term ‘the Great Resignation’. Anthony Klotz will be speaking Wednesday, February 15th at 7 PM at the Stephens Performing Arts Center in the Bistline Theater.
  • KISU’s Ricky Colapietro interviews Chance Reynolds, a secondary education major, about his involvement in ASISU. Chance is the senator for the College of Education, looking to run for the VP position. He shares his love for campus organizations such as Tau Kappa Epsilon, which he is the president of. Chance and Ricky talk about campus life and share some funny stories.
  • KISU’s Ricky Colapietro interviews Yassin Lumu, a medical lab sciences student in their senior year. Yassin is a senator for the College of Health Professions, and is also involved with the African Student Association. Ricky and Yassin talk about what he likes about ASISU and campus, as well as what Yassin wants to do in the future.
  • KISU’s Ricky Colapietro interviews Abeer Alqurashi, an MHE and MA/DA student at Idaho State about their involvement with ASISU and on campus. Abeer shares the joy she gets serving other people, and her gratitude towards ASISU. Abeer is the Graduate Studies senator for ASISU, and wears other hats on campus being involved in the International Affairs Council as well.
  • KISU’s Ricky Colapieto interviews Maele Christensen, a student studying medical lab sciences in their senior year. Maele shares what she does within ASISU as a senator and member of the finance committee. They also discuss the upcoming ASISU election, which has a deadline to apply to run for the senate on February 10th.
